Board of Directors


The Executive Board of Directors is charged to guide the operation, financials, and future direction of the Council.  It is comprised of various community members all across the county who have a stake in the work of early childhood and outcomes of the Council. All are Board members are voted in by the current Board members.

Meet Our Current Board of Directors:

Kevin Jacobs


Kevin brings extensive experience in working on Boards on programs and committees. He lives in Broomfield and has made this his home for the last several years.  He has first hand knowledge of the importance of early childhood as he has a preschool aged son and two grown daughters.

Deven Shaff


Deven is a City Council member and a parent to two young children. He has vast experience in nonprofit and community building. He has worked diligently to support the success of art and into our community and is a strong advocate for early childhood.

Debbie Kunz

Member at Large

Debbie is the Executive Director of the Bal Swan Children's Center. It is a Level 5 rated program and an integrated preschool in the community. Debbie has several years of experience with early childhood and parenting programs, so understands the complexity and the necessity for early childhood systems and structure.

Blair Skinner, LMFT

Vice President

Blair has been an active member of the Broomfield community for several years. Her experience ranges with early childhood therapy using play therapy and her therapy dog, Gadget. Blair continue to serve Broomfield from a new location and works to help children achieve positive health and well being.

Guyleen Castriotta


Guyleen is an advocate for the Broomfield community and supports progressive thinking and speaking up for Broomfield residents. Guyleen is also a City Council member of Ward 5. She is a new and welcome addition to our Council and early childhood community.

Nancy McKee

Member at Large

​Nancy has brings 40+ years of working in the field of preschool and child care. She has been with the Council since it's inception in 2007 and continues to work in this capacity to bring the BECC mission to a wider audience and advocate for the importance of the mission of Early Childhood Education in society.  Nancy is a recognized community and family advocate and continues to be a leader in our community

Anita Rich

Member at Large

Anita, a retired Social Worker, has been a resident of Broomfield for 27 years.  She has a long history of advocating for the needs of children and their families in the health and wellness system.  Supporting the mission of the BECC, she understands the need for strong systems and resource availability for the residents of Broomfield and will help to develop and maintain those systems.Add Description here
